This Thursday, March 16th, 6:30-7:30 is 4/5 fine arts night. Come enjoy a musical performance from your student as well as a showing of their art work.
Other upcoming notables: -Wednesday, March 22nd, Mrs. Gosser will be hosting an information session for parents about State Testing in the Library from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. -March 27th to March 31st is spring break. There will be no school. Reading This week we continue to focus on informational text. Students will focus on comprehending and writing about a text with a cause and effect strucutre. Over the past weeks it has been exciting to see students reading text more closely and referring back to it to cite evidence as they answer questions and respond to prompts. This focus continues this week. Word Work Focus: Compound Words Word of the Week: Evidence Book Commercial: Most students are wrapping the reading part of this project and are on to script writing. Writing This week students will revise, edit and begin to publish their informational country books. The goal is to have these books published before spring break. Social Studies Our study of Oregon History continues this week. Last week we learned about explorers and mountaineers who traveled West. This week we learn about a different group who also played a role in westward expansion: Missionaries. Science This week students will finish constructing their model capitol buildings. We may even be able to perform our shake tests by the end of the week. Have a great week!
