This week we will be wrapping up March with the conclusion of a number of long term projects. Important events in the near future:
Reading This week in reading we will do an SBAC (this is the name of our state testing) scavenger hunt, to learn about the tools, navigation and directions on the test. We will also go to the computer lab to do an official practice. Students will also continue to work on their novel studies in reading groups, book commercials and non-fiction texts. Word of the Week: Support Word Focus: Words with the prefixes un- and re- Writing This week all students will finish publishing their country reports. It is exciting for students to see the final product of their long hard work. These books are turning out nicely. They include multiple sections, colored pictures, tables of contents and glossaries. Science This week we will test our Capitol Building models. Students have built new designs for the Capitol building that they think will withstand our shake test because of their dimensions, materials and other design features. Students have already begun team reports about their models. After our shake test data is collected students will be able to finish their team reports. Check out the handouts below that both came home this week.
